You Are Not Your Own

You are not your own

–And don’t you forget it!–

Lavish all your power unto me

–Pretty please–

I say, so condescendingly

Low self-esteem is your lot in life

–A small voice screaming that this isn’t right–

But nobody listens

You are not your own

–You are just being over emotional–

Go back to people pleasing

–You are a lovely door mat–

You piece of trash

–Stay like that!–

–A small voice screaming that no one should live like that . . .–
