“The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.”*

In less words, Lovecraft is referring to the unknown. That is the thing which our minds cannot grasp, the thing which haunts our sub-conscious, not just on an individual-to-individual basis, but as a collective whole. There will always be something that makes someone crawl.

What unknown things does the universe hide?

Before I stop, I would like to encourage you to think for a moment.

Just think . . .

“We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.”*

(Don’t think too hard.)
